Birth chart basics
How we write the Guide
Who is behind these articles, which method we follow and what we promise.
By the AstroScroll editorial team · Updated October 3, 2026 · 2 min read
The AstroScroll Guide is written by the AstroScroll editorial team. We want every article to answer one question completely, in everyday language, without assuming that you already know astrology.
Our method
We follow Western astrology with the tropical zodiac, the system most astrologers in Europe and North America work with. Houses are calculated with the Placidus system. When an article gives an example chart, its positions are calculated with the same engine we use for our readings.
How an article is made
Our articles are researched and written with the help of modern technology and edited by our team. Before an article is published, we check its statements about the sky, such as how long the Moon stays in a sign, against astronomical data.
What we don't do
We do not predict events, and we do not give medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. Astrology is a tool for self-reflection, not a science. Where astrologers disagree, we say so.
