1. Controller
The controller for the processing of your personal data is BS-Lifestyle-GmbH, Langegasse 45, 4104 Oberwil BL, Switzerland, info@astroscroll.com. This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for users in the EU/EEA and UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What data we process
- Data you give us: first name, last name (optional), email address, date, time and place of birth, your answers to the quiz questions, and your consent choices.
- Parents or legal guardians may enter their own child's birth details for a reading. The service is not intended for children; only adults may order, and emails go only to the adult who places the order.
- If you enter the details of another adult, you confirm that you are authorized to do so; the reading and all emails go only to the person placing the order.
- Data we create from it: your calculated birth chart and the texts of your preview and reading.
- Purchase data: when you buy a reading, the payment is processed by Stripe. At checkout you enter your name and billing address. Stripe sends us your email address, your name, your billing address (street, postal code, city, country and, for purchases from the United States, the state), the amount, currency, payment status and the payment and receipt reference. We use your name and billing address only for your invoice and our bookkeeping; you can view and correct them in your customer account. We do not receive your full payment details (for example your card number).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, your browser's time zone, pages visited and the referring link (for example a social media profile), collected through our hosting provider's basic statistics.
3. Why we process it
- To create and deliver your free preview and any reading you buy (performance of a contract).
- To send you personal astrology insights, personal time-limited offers and a reminder before such an offer expires by email. We send these emails to everyone who requests the free preview (legitimate interest in informing you about our own similar offers). Every email contains an unsubscribe link; you can unsubscribe at any time and will then no longer receive such emails.
- To answer your messages, handle refunds and keep required business records (contract and legal obligations).
- To keep our service secure and understand which channels bring visitors (legitimate interest).
4. Service providers
We use the following providers, who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:
- Lovable / Supabase – website and database hosting (United States, Oregon)
- Google (Google Maps Platform) – place search and coordinates for your birthplace
- Anthropic – generating the texts of your preview and reading from your chart data
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), Turnstile service: protects our forms against automated requests (bots). To tell people from bots, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details about your browser and connection. This check is technically necessary to run our service securely (legitimate interest). It is not used for advertising, nor to identify or profile you.
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland, and affiliated companies including Stripe, Inc., USA) – payment processing. Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
- PayPal (PayPal Pte. Ltd., Singapore, and affiliated companies including PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., Luxembourg, and PayPal, Inc., USA) – payment processing when you pay with PayPal. PayPal processes your payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy (available at paypal.com).
- Resend – sending transactional emails (preview and reading delivery)
- Klaviyo Inc. (USA) – sending and analyzing emails. For adult readings, we pass your email address, first name and optional last name; for child readings, no first or last name. We also pass language, country, time zone, your Big Three signs, your quiz answer, the chapter titles of your preview, your price window and your consent status, never your date, time or place of birth. Marketing emails go to everyone who requested the free preview and has not unsubscribed; unsubscribing on our website also unsubscribes you at Klaviyo. If you sign up for our newsletter on the website, we store your email address and send you emails until you unsubscribe.

Some of these providers are located in the United States. Where data is transferred to countries without an adequate level of data protection, we rely on recognized safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US / Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework.
5. How long we keep your data
- Preview and lead data: until you ask us to delete it, or at the latest 24 months after your last interaction with us.
- Purchase data and readings: as long as needed to provide the reading and for the statutory retention period for business records (in Switzerland generally 10 years for accounting records).
- Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw your consent at any time. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in Switzerland the FDPIC, in the EU the authority in your country). Write to info@astroscroll.com to exercise your rights.
7. Birth data
Your birth details are personal and we treat them confidentially. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for anything other than the purposes described here.
8. Cookies and ad measurement
We use technically necessary storage to make the website work, for example to remember your language. Your answers in the reading form are stored locally in your browser for up to 7 days so you can continue where you left off; «Start over» deletes them. To choose the language, we evaluate the country you are visiting from (not your IP address); the country is not stored.
On English-language pages, the following measurement tools run from your first visit without a cookie banner:
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd., Ireland / Google LLC, USA) – statistics: which pages are visited and how visitors move through our quiz. Google Analytics data is stored for 14 months.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) – usage analysis and heatmaps to understand how the website is used. It is never used on admin or download pages. Form fields containing your name, email address or birth details are masked.
- Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Ireland / Meta Platforms Inc., USA) – marketing: measuring whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to visits, sign-ups and purchases. When you request the free preview, start a purchase or complete one, we also send Meta from our server: your email address in hashed (encrypted, non-readable) form, the ad click identifiers stored in your browser, your IP address and technical details about your browser and, for a purchase, the purchase value. Meta processes this data under its own retention rules.
We never send your birth details, your name or your quiz answers to Google or Meta. Personal form fields are masked for Microsoft Clarity.
Legal basis: we use these tools on English-language pages from your first visit on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and measuring our service and advertising. You can object to the sharing of your personal information for advertising using «Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information» in the footer. We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal of your browser as an objection to marketing tracking. On German-language pages, measurement tools remain subject to the cookie choices shown there.

Google and Meta may process data in the United States. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its Swiss and UK extensions; we also rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Customer account
Customer account. When you order a reading, we create a customer account for your e-mail address so that you can access your readings and invoices at any time. To log in you set a password yourself; we store it only in hashed form. The account contains your orders, your readings, your invoices and the birth details you entered. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time in the account settings or by e-mail; invoices are kept as long as the law requires.
